Dragon Gems 2025-2026 Tryouts!
Ready to shine? Tryouts for the 2025-2026 Dragon Gems Middle School Drill Team are happening on Saturday, May 10th at 3:00 PM! Open to rising 7th and 8th graders from Dawson and Carroll Middle School, Dragon Gems is the perfect opportunity to build your dance skills, support your community, and prepare for the Emerald Belles.
Parent Information Meeting – Join us on Wednesday, April 2nd from 4:30-6:00 PM to learn about the team, the tryout process, and what to expect for the upcoming season.
Tryout Prep Clinics – Optional sessions are available Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4:30-6:00 PM, April 3rd through May 8th for $25 per clinic. These clinics will focus on technique, routines, and building confidence for tryouts.
Dancers will be evaluated and placed on either the Black Squad or Green Squad, with exciting performance and competition opportunities throughout the season.

Shine Bright Like a Gem
Dragon Gems is a middle school drill team made up of 7th and 8th graders from Dawson and Carroll Middle School in Southlake, Texas, dedicated to preparing dancers for the prestigious Emerald Belles. Our mission is to develop passionate, well-trained dancers who embody leadership, teamwork, and school spirit.
Dragon Gems proudly supports our community by performing at football games, basketball games, pep rallies, and local parades. Each spring, our dancers showcase their talent and dedication by competing in local drill team competitions.
Throughout the season, our dancers will focus on skill development, character building, and fostering strong team bonds—all while having fun! While prior dance experience is not required, a dancer’s technical level will help determine their squad placement for the 2025-2026 season.
